Bollywood Praises Raam Reddy’s Thithi

Raam Reddy’s Thithi is swiping awards wherever it gets nominated. Recently at the Mumbai International Film Festival, the flick won the Jury Grand Prize in the international competition category and has grabbed a total of 13 awards since its release on August 10, last year. The countryside comedy portrays day-to-day stories developing from rural Karnataka and comprises of cast with no acting background.

Bollywood stars are also not left untouched from the flick’s success story as Shaitan actress Kalki said, “Thithi is a sweet film. I wish I could understand Kannada, so I could get more of the jokes. It's such a well told simple story, but very truthful".

She further tweeted, “A simple yet funny philosophical film by Raam Reddy". Adding to the praise, Maqbool director Abhishek Chaubey called the movie ‘hillarious, moving and strikingly original ’. Now, the makers have planned to launch the movie in major cities on June 3, with subtitles.
