Debutante Director Manages To Bring Resul Pookutty On-board

Resul Pookutty is one of the most sought after film sound designers. He even bagged the Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing for ‘Slumdog Millionaire’. Many Sandalwood filmmakers have tried to collaborate with Resul, but finally Apurva Kasaravalli, son of veteran director Girish Kasaravalli, has managed to convince the sound editor for his directorial debut ‘Niruttara’.

When a leading daily approached Apurva to know how he managed to bring Resul Pookutty on-board, he said, "It wasn't as big a task as one would expect. I asked a friend of mine to put me in touch with Resul and I then narrated the script to him. He liked the story, as well as how I had planned to use sound in the film. The thing about technicians like Resul is that they need to be convinced of the story and the team, irrespective of how big the project is”.

Reportedly, the film will feature Rahul Bose, Bhavana, Aindrita Ray and Kiran Srinivas. Few days back, the cast started the dubbing process for the film. The makers will soon be announcing the release date of the film.
