Face Of PETA Priyamani Urges People To Help Homeless Dogs

Actress Priyamani who has always been vocal about her love for animals has taken a step ahead to support the cause. The Kannada star has become the face of People For Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The actress has been spreading awareness and has been urging people to help homeless dogs and cats.

She said in a statement, “Countless dogs and cats suffer on the streets or are waiting in animal shelters for lack of good homes. We can help ensure as many of them (as possible) get good homes by sterilizing our companion dogs and cats, instead of contributing to the overpopulation crisis”.

As per PETA, “Just one unaltered female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 puppies in only six years. In seven years, one female cat and her offspring can produce 3,70,000 kittens. Sterilization eliminates the stress and discomfort that females endure during heat periods and greatly reduces the risk of mammary cancer. Neutering makes males far less likely to roam or fight”.
