Jaggu Dada May Get A Delayed Release

Jaggu Dada May Get A Delayed Release

Darshan’s Jaggu Dada may be in bit of trouble as regional office of the Central Board of Film Certification reviews the flick today for awarding certification. The worry is that the flick has a scene in which a pigeon is spotted by the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI). It was disapproved by the body on May 30 calling that the filmmakers ‘they used white pigeons which is protected under Wildlife Protection Act, 1972’.

Now, as per rules CBFC does not give a certificate to a flick until it gets a no-objection certificate from the AWBI. In order to get movie released soon, the makers may have to omit the scene from the film in the opinion of experts. In the end, it’s the fans that have to bear the brunt if the film gets delayed while they eagerly wait to see Darshan-Deeksha duo.

However, this was not the first instance when AWBI created road blocks in the release of a movie. Recently, during Ram Gopal Varma's Kannada film Killing Veerappan release there was a delayed approval from the board. The movie got approval late on a Thursday night before its release the following Friday morning, giving a last minute relief to maker.
