C.R. Manohar is turning into a multi-lingual producer as his upcoming films, namely ‘Kali’ and ‘Rai’, will be made in four languages. While ‘Kali’ will star Shiva Rajkumar and Sudeep in lead roles, ‘Rai’ will have Vivek Oberoi essaying the titular role of don Muthappa Rai. “I have been approached with subjects that are mostly universal, which will help reach larger audiences. Therefore, I chose such projects”, said Manohar.

About Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Rai’, he said, “RGV and I are good friends and we were keen on working together for a film on the underworld. We had initially planned Rai for Sudeep. Since, the actor will get busy with my own film, Kali, he is in not a position to accommodate dates for RGV's film”.

At the same time, the producer is happy that Vivek Oberoi has now been roped in for the role. “RGV and Vivek have been a hit combination with films like D Company, Sarkar and Rakta Charitra. That's the reason he chose him for Rai”, he said. C.R. Manohar further said that discussions regarding budget are going on and an official announcement about the project will be made soon.
