Kannada Remake of Jigarthanda to have Ravi Shankar, Samyukta Hornad in Lead

The Kannada remake of Tamil Black Comedy film Jigarthanda, has now finalised the two lead roles. Reportedly, P. Ravi Shankar has been roped in for the project. On the other hand, Samyukta Hornad has been casted to play the female lead. The film hasn’t been given any title, as of now. The project will be helmed by Sudeep.

Revealing the news, Rahul, who is playing on the lead said, “P Ravi Shankar will play the antagonist's role. Bobby Simhaa played that in the original, which recently fetched him a Filmfare Award too. Samyukta Hornad will be seen as the heroine, playing the character originally essayed by Lakshmi Menon. We also have Chikanna and Sadhu Kokila in important roles”.

Shankar also talked about his role in the film. He said, “When I watched the original, I was stunned by the performance of Simha, who also won a National award for it. I'm trying to bring a new perspective to the character with my experience”.
