Making Maasti Gudi Was My Destiny: Nagashekar

Director-actor Nagashekar is all prepped up for his upcoming release Maasti Gudi which is all set to release this week. In a recent interview with the Times Of India, Nagashekar revealed how he got the movie. Even though the director helmed three hit Kannada films, he wasn’t comfortable with the offers that he was getting after that and then Maasti Gudi happened.

Nagashekar said, "I was not comfortable with that and was biding my time, wondering what to do next when actor Vijay called me with a proposal”. He said that he was only meant to write the story of Maasti Gudi, but I ended up directing it as well. The filmmaker further added, “At that point, I was committed to direct another film, but as luck would have it, that project was stalled and I was able to work on Maasti Gudi. Making this film was my destiny," explains the filmmaker”.

The Mynaa director also mentioned that the film has only happened because of support from Ambareesh and the Film Chamber. Bankrolled by KPS Combines, the film stars Duniya Vijay, Kriti Kharbanda and Amulya in lead roles. The film is slated for a release on May 12.
