Masterpiece Has Wider Releases

Actors Yash and Shanvi Srivastava starrer Sandalwood movie, Masterpiece has been released simultaneously across several centres in the country. The movie was officially released on Christmas Eve, December 24. The makers of the film believe entertainment does not have language barriers.

It is a Hombale Films production. Karthik Gowda from the production team said, “Masterpiece was released on December 24 in centres including Chennai, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, Pune, Goa and several cities along the north Karnataka border. In fact, based on the turnout over the first five days, several multiplexes in these centres have increased the number of shows. This despite the fact that the film has been released in Kannada without subtitles in these cities”.

Also, the makers plan to take the film all over India. “There is, no doubt, a market for Kannada films in several cities across India and our future films will have wider releases. A lot of Kannada movies have been tapping into this market, but there's more that can be done on that front. This momentum that we have set by releasing it simultaneously has to be sustained by other Kannada filmmakers, so that it is not just the stray movie that reaches audiences there. They should be assured that they get a release every week”. Karthik added.
