Mr. Airavata might not have been well applauded by the critics but the Kannada film has been able to hit the right chords with the audiences. The action flick has completed 50 days in theatres, minting 30 crores as of now, leaving director A.P. Arjun pleased. “Without any exaggeration, Airavatha is the only Kannada film which has made money in 2015”, he says proudly.

The director says that the audience’s view is that what matters. “In one way, every audience has become a critic today since they have found their own social platforms to express their views”, he said.  Talking of the commercialisation of cinema, he said, “Show me the money’ has become the mantra in Gandhinagar and if we don’t deliver, our careers suffer. Even if the film is good and a blockbuster hit, but does not manage to give returns to the producer, no one will offer you their next project”.

Talking about the difficulties that he faced while working on the flick, Arjun said, “I learnt to handle a big budget film with a big star. More importantly, this film also taught me to become more professional in the industry”. About his next project, he said, “I have a commitment with RS Productions and they want me to helm a project for Dhruva Sarja again. I also have a couple other projects in hand. Once I get clarity on which film to begin, I should start rolling”.
