Ragini Dwivedi Is All Set To Play A Cop Again

Ragini Dwivedi is all set to be seen as a strong cop. The actress has played a cop in Ragini IPS but this time she will be portraying another type of cop. To her luck, shortly after working with director Mussanje Mahesh on Naane Next CM, the filmmaker came back to her with a role in MMCH. The actress is currently shooting for her upcoming film with Sharan.

Talking about her role, she said, “I hadn’t done a cop role in a while and when Mahesh spoke to me about the character in MMCH, it really excited me. For starters, the character is called Jhansi Rani, who is a very intelligent cop and does what she wants to, while also making sure that things go her way. She is the best there is on the force”. She thinks that the story of the film is based on a true incident which is quite exciting. Ragini added, “I thought it was quite gripping that we were making the character a woman and getting her to investigate the case like the original officer did”.

The film explores the friendship between the four leading ladies — Meghana Raj, Samyukta Hornad, Prathama Prasad and Deepthi.  In the trailer, Ragini’s character is seen smoking, something she says was essential for the character. “It’s definitely not something that I encourage or promote. I had to do it to enhance the character. In fact, for the introduction scene of the character, I had to smoke a cigar and that was no cakewalk at all,” she says. What she did enjoy, adds Ragini, was the styling by her brother, Rudraksha. “Jhansi Rani is more often seen in casual clothes, for which he gave me a clean sharp look,” she says.
