Rakshita Prem: Parvathamma Rajkumar Was The Only Person Who Said I Could Be A Heroine

Nijam star Rakshita Prem recalls the time when she made her debut with movie Appu, which was bankrolled under the banner of late Parvathamma Rajkumar, who recently died after suffering multiple organ failure.

In the memory of the late entrepreneur who was the first lady producer in Kannada movie industry, former actress and politician Rakshita Prem was quoted as saying, "Parvathamma Rajkumar was the only person who said I could be a heroine at a time when so many people opposed my entry into the film industry. Even I did not believe in myself as much as she did. She further added, “Parvathamma was a source of strength to the entire industry. She is the only woman entrepreneur who showed how to stand her ground, call the shots and in the process help so many lives.”

The actress turned producer closed her statement by quoting words once, said to her by her late mentor, ‘There is nothing to be scared about, as one had to do what one’s art requires one to do.’
