Sandalwood director Rishika Sharma’s latest venture is horror flick which is all set to hit the theatres on July 13. Just two weeks ahead of its release, Rishika talks about how she find horror genre very entertaining. It is very rare of a female director to choose a path not taken by many female filmmakers.

She said, “Horror is my personal favourite genre and when I came across the line that inspired Trunk, a couple of films — Conjuring and Mummy (Kannada) — were in theatres. I went to the movie halls to see the audience reaction to the genre and I saw that they were enjoying themselves. All of us experience joy and sadness on an almost daily basis, so it made no sense to me to bring that to the screen again”.

Talking about her film, the filmmaker said that after reading the subject of the film, she thought it would be great to bring it to the screen. She believes there is a lack of good horror cinema in Kannada. Trunk features Nihal Rajput and Vaishali Deepak in the lead role.
