Sharmiela Mandre To Play An ISRO Scientist

Sharmiela Mandre is heading to work in different ventures these days. If we go by her social media posts, she has been busy holidaying but it is not entirely true. After taking a short break earlier this year, the actress has been busy in her new role as producer. Interestingly, she is also shooting for her films as an actor.

Talking about this, Mandre said, “After I came back from my holiday, I re-launched my banner. We have begun with a Tamil film, which was not intentional, but just so happened as everything fell into place. The idea is to make films in all languages under my banner, but the focus is, most definitely, going to be Kannada films,” says Sharmiela. The actress has two Kannada films in her kitty. “The film that I will be acting in is a thriller — a genre that I believe we have to tap into more often in Kannada cinema. We are currently in the process of putting the cast and the rest of the technical crew in place but are hopeful of going on floors by the end of August. Thereafter, I will get busy with another Kannada film, on which I will only serve as producer,” adds Sharmiela.

She wants to get into full-fledged production and provide opportunities to new talent. Sharmiela will continue acting but it has to be worth her time and effort. On this, she said, “My role in the upcoming Mysore Masala. I play Maya, an ISRO scientist in this sci-fi flick. It is, obviously, a role I have never done before and is quite complex”.
