Sunil Kumar Desai Talks About His Directorial ‘Re’

Kannada film 'Re' marks the comeback of director Sunil Kumar Desai in Sandalwood after a gap of eight years. The film features stars like Ananth Nag, Harshika Poonacha, Ramesh Aravind and Suman in prominent roles. The director recently talked about the film which is releasing today and said the movie is not restricted to comedy but also has a philosophical subject.

Talking about the story of the film, Sunil said in a statement, “If you take any situation, it is possible to explain it in several ways. The most obvious would be to say that it was destined to happen. But what if that was not the case and it happened because of something else? Then you begin to wonder, what if it had not happened? In Re, the situation is the impending wedding of Paapu, played by Ramesh, who is caught in a love quadrangle of sorts. He is paired with Harshika, Suman and a mystery girl”.

Revealing what is distinct in the film, he said, “The USP of the film is the concept. It is a very modern idea, presented in an old-world manner”. He further said that it is bonus to have veteran actors such as Master Hirannaiah, Shrinivas Prabhu, Loknath, Shivaram, Ramesh Bhat, G.K. Govinda Rao amongst others in the flick.
