You Can’t Always Blame An Actor For Not Performing: Karthik Jayaram

Karthik Jayaram, popularly known as JK, has done some good films in Kannada and Hindi small screen. Despite his success, the roles Karthik was getting for the big screen were not doing him justice until now. And the actor is feeling quite positive about his latest release, Aa Karaala Ratri, which had a premiere on Tuesday night.

Karthik seems on cloud nine when he was asked about the film and his role. He said, “The general perception among people is that I am not an actor. In fact, when Dayal (Padmanabhan), cast me in the role, many wondered if I would be able to do it well. But he has proven that in the hands of the right director, even I can perform”.

He further added that audiences have appreciated his roles in Ashwini Nakshatra, Siya Ke Ram or Kempe Gowda because his directors were talented. He believes that a director plays a big role in what audiences eventually see onscreen. According to him, one can’t always blame an actor for not performing.

Aa Karaala Ratri is the actor’s first film since his stint on the last season of Bigg Boss Kannada. This is his first-period film, for which he had to grow out his hair and moustache and have a lean muscular frame to carry off an 80s look. Moreover, Rangayana Raghu, Veena Sundar and Anupama Gowda) are also playing important roles in the movie. Further, the music is composed by Ganesh Narayan and cinematography was done by PKH Das. Up next, he has another film with Dayal, which he is looking forward to. He is currently shooting for a Hindi film with Krushna Abhishek, called Pushpa, I Hate Tears, and has another two in the pipeline.
