Aishwarya Lekshmi: I Am Fortunate Not To Be Typecast After 'Mayaanadhi'

Aishwarya Lekshmi: I Am Fortunate Not To Be Typecast After 'Mayaanadhi'

Aishwarya Lekshmi has done just two films for now in the industry and has bagged her first Filmfare Award too for the Best Debutante. The actress shared some details about her upcoming projects. After the release of Mayaanadhi, the actress picked up the Fahadh Faasil–Amal Neerad project Varathan.

On this, she said, “As for this film, soon after I read the script, I could connect with it and felt that it won’t be a wise decision if I don’t do it, for it has a great story”. Aishwarya Lekshmi received many offers after Mayaanadhi and according to her, all the offers were very filtered, good offers and they did not try to typecast her either.

The truth is that wasn’t the case. I wasn’t offered too many movies, just one or two that’s all. But, they were much filtered, good offers and they did not try to typecast me either. So, I wasn’t in a situation in which I had to think hard over what to choose from. However, maybe I can call this the Mayaanadhi effect — the characters offered to me were of great importance in the story and were there throughout the film.

Moreover, Aishwarya and Fahadh’s characters are true to life in Varathan, which is a thriller-cum-drama. She is playing just another girl, who is presented in the most natural. The actress felt lucky and nervous even to work with Fahadh as it was her first movie with him. even she used to tell him that she will come with a book and pen so that he can share his tips with her.

Moreover, she will start shooting for director Jismon's next film, with Asif Ali from July. It’s a fun film that has its set of messages to share. She has also committed to another movie but waiting for the makers to announce it.
