Asif Ali Finds Nivin Pauly Eligible for Star Status

Premam has forced not only the audience but Mollywood fraternity to recognize Nivin Pauly as a powerful actor. Recently, Asif Ali praised the actor during an interview to Grihalakshmi. The Bachelor Party actor has shared the screen space with Nivin in the thriller film, Traffic (2011). Premam has become the second biggest success in the Malayalam film industry after Mohanlal’s Drishyam.

During the interview he said that Nivin Pauly is eligible for the star status. Asif said that even though no actor can be compared to Mohanlal, yet there is nothing wrong in considering Nivin as the young generation’s superstar. The Ustad Hotel actor said that Premam’s success is celebratory for the Malayalam industry.

Asif also added that the way Premam has broken the records made by Drishyam, some other blockbuster will beat the former in future.  His movie Nirnaayakam, which released after Premam, was a box office failure. But Asif’s role in the movie fetched him rave reviews.
