Baahubali Series VFX Supervisor Kamal Kannan To Work In Mammootty Starrer ‘Mamaankam’

Mollywood star Mammootty is all set to star in the upcoming period drama movie titled as ‘Mamaankam’. The shooting of the movie is set to begin from February 10. The movie is based on the Chaaverukal warriors during the late 17th century.

‘Mamaankam’ depicts these warriors attempting to overthrow the Zamorin rulers. In order to ensure good visuals in the movie, the makers have roped in Kamal Kannan, who was a VFX supervisor in the Baahubali series. Regarding the task of adding good visuals, Kamal said, “The challenge in the film is to meld the graphics with the original visuals so that the audience cannot distinguish between the two”.

‘Mamaankam’ is helmed and penned by Sajeev. The filmmaker stated that a stronger emphasis has been placed towards Mammootty’s character in order to make it relatable with the audience. He said, “We want it to be as organic as possible, especially because we are doing it in Malayalam”.
