I Think It Is Very Tough To Either Direct Or Act In Malayalam: Prabhu Deva

Prabhu Deva is known as the Michel Jackson of India. He is not just a dance choreographer, but a film director, producer and actor too. After being acted in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada films, the star recently did a silent film. His recently released horror thriller film, Mercury, is a silent film which released with decent reviews.

The actor recently came to Kochi and talked about his Malayalam films and many more. He made his debut in Mollywood in 2011 with epic Indian historical drama film Urumi. Helmed by Santosh Sivan, the flick also starred Tabu , Arya and Vidya Balan in cameo appearances.

When asked why he didn’t do any Malayalam films since then, he said, “I have no idea why I am not doing Malayalam films. Urumi happened because of Santosh Sivan sir. Mollywood is a completely different world. I have seen films of both superstars and the young lot and they are all excellent. The making is so different and every movie is unique. I think it is very tough to either direct or act in Malayalam as the expectations and the standards are so high. Also, the language (is tough) too”.
