Lijo Jose Pellissery Was More Satisfied With ‘Ee Ma Yau’ Than His Other Movies

Malayalam film director Lijo Jose Pellissery has emerged as one of the most sought-after filmmakers of Mollywood. He started his career 10 years ago as a finalist of a major short film competition in 2007. His last film, ‘Angamaly Diaries’, emerged as one of the biggest hits of the year.

Now, the director has some other reason to be happy about. Lijo’s yet-to-be-released movie ‘Ee Ma Yau’ has fetched him his first Kerala State Award in the Best Director category. However, he said that he gives the same importance to each of his films but was more satisfied after completing ‘Ee Ma Yau’.

Talking about the win, the filmmaker said, “I don’t know if it’s any more special than the other achievements as I give the same importance for every accolade. But after shooting this film, I guess I was comparatively more satisfied than my other movies. I think that had to do with the things around – the performances and the kind of spirit the film had”.

Lijo is currently occupied with ‘Swathanthryam Artharathriyil’ where he is dubbing for his cameo role.
