Listening To Soldiers’ Tales And Their Sacrifices Made Me More Patriotic: Mrudula Murali

Malayalam actress Mrudula Murali is entering the Hindi film cinema with her maiden Bollywood project, Raagdesh. She recently completed the first schedule of the film which was shot in Dehradun and is back in her town. Sharing her experience about the film, she said the Bollywood industry is totally opposite of what she thought.

Helmed by National Award winner director Tigmanshu Dhulia, the actress plays the role of Captain Lakshmi Sehgal in the film. Talking about it, she said, "People on the sets were really cool and friendly. I was a bit nervous initially, as I had heard that Bollywood sets are a bit laid back kind but it was the other way. The way they work is very different. They are very punctual and focussed".

The Red Chillies actress also said that she spent most of her time in the cantonment area in Dehradun which has made her more patriotic. She added, "Our shooting was in the forest areas and around army camps. People over there are either in the army or retired soldiers. I got to listen to a lot of their stories. I was moved by their love for the nation and the sacrifices they make".

The film is based on Indian National Army (INA) Trials of 1945.
