Mammootty’s Raja 2 To Release In March 2019?

Here is a good news for all Mammootty fans. The superstar’s upcoming movie titled Raja 2 is scheduled to release on March 21, 2019. Raja 2 is the sequel to the super hit Comedy masala film Pokkiri Raja which also featured Prithviraj and Shriya alongside Mammootty and released in 2010.

The film is directed by Vysakh who had last helmed the highest grossing Mollywood film Pulimurugan with Mohanlal. As per the reports, the film will go on floors by the end of this year. It is still not confirmed whether Prithviraj would be reprising his role for Raja 2 or not.

Moreover, the film’s scriptwriter Udayakrishna had earlier said, “It’s completely different from the original movie and so the setting is also unrelated. The movie follows Raja’s character and the entirely revolves around him. It’s set in Kerala”. Moreover, Pokkiri Raja emerged as the highest grossing Malayalam film of that year and the director's Pulimurugan became the first Malayalam film to gross Rs 150 crore worldwide.
