Odiyan Movie Cast - Mohanlal Plays An Athlete In Odiyan

Actor Mohanlal is gearing up for his upcoming film Odiyan in which he will be seen playing a character from Odiyan tribe named Manikyan from the age of 30 to 65. The movie is directed by VA Shrikumar. Though the film is believed to be a fantasy genre, however, the director says that there is nothing mysterious about Mohanlal's character.

“The basic idea of the film is to break the mystery and myth associated with the tribe that had lived in various part of Kerala in the past," says the director. He has further stated that he has tried to keep Mohanlal’s character as authentic as possible. Shrikumar says, "A magician creates a make-belief environment to fool his audience. Similarly, Manikyan has mastered this art.”

Asked about Mohanlal’s role in the film, the director said, "He is a fabulous athlete. He can run of four legs and jump higher than normal people. All this is because of the raw energy that he has.”Apart from Mohanlal, the film will also feature Manju Warrier and Prakash Raj.  The movie is expected to start rolling by mid August in Palakkad. Besides Palakkad, some portions of the flick will also be shot in Varanasi.
