Mohanlal to return National Games performance fee

Mollywood star Mohanlal was recently condemned over the performance of his music band Lalisom at the inauguration of the 35^th National Games through social media. "Pained by the strong criticism", the actor has written a letter to the Kerala government that he would return the hefty fee he had charged for the event. Mohanlal had apparently taken a whopping amount of Rs. 1.63 crore.

He wrote. "I will pay back the entire amount of one crore sixty-three lakh seventy-seven thousand six hundred rupees. I hope this will bring an end to all controversies." Mohanlal’s musical band has been making the news for its poor performance. Despite taking huge money, Lalisom could not meet audience’s expectations. Social media was soon flooded with memes, criticisms and abusive comments about the band formed by superstar Mohanlal and music composer Ratheesh Vega.

Before the performance, the actor had assured that the money was meant for the artistes in his band and not for himself. However, as the artists could not prove themselves, Mohanlal landed in trouble.
