Rajeev Pillai To Play Shakeela’s Love Interest In Her Biopic

It was earlier reported that a biopic being made on adult film star Shakeela renowned for films like Kinnarathumbikal. The actress was most popular in Malayalam film industry but the film is made in Hindi. Interestingly, Mollywood hunk Rajeev Pillai playing the love interest of Shakeela.

Moreover, Richa Chadha is playing the lead role in the film. However, the film will have a Malayali presence as well. Rajeev Pillai himself confirms the news and said, “I will be playing the hero in the film. My character is called Arjun”. “The movie is helmed by director Indrajith Lankesh liked me who has delivered major hits in Kannada.

“Though it’s a biopic, every character is important in the movie. I had no apprehensions whatsoever; as I know it’s a clean film. It shows Shakeela’s real life. She was a hit among youngsters at one point of time but at the end, she was left with nothing as people close to her had taken everything that she had made,” he says. Richa and Shakeela have done a lot of homework as well; adapting Shakeela’s most minute nuances. For now, the actor is currently shooting for the movie in Shimoga.
