S Durga Will Finally Hit Screens

It has been learned that last year’s controversial Malayalam movie S Durga, has finally got the green signal from the CBFC’s Revising Committee. The film is directed by Sanal Kumar Sasidharan, who has recently announced the good news. He took to his social media account to share this news along with a poster of the film.

He wrote, “Dear friends, the fight has ended. The Revising committee of the CBFC has approved the film S Durga for public release. We wish to release the film in as much theaters as possible. We are looking for a proper distribution channel and if it is not feasible, we will arrange a parallel distribution device for which we need your continued support”.

Moreover, last year, the film received the Hivos Tiger award at Rotterdam and was also screened at the Singapore International Film Festival. However, due to some reasons, the film was banned from releasing for the general public. The title of the film was asked to be changed by the CBFC to S Durga, citing that it hurt religious sentiments, which could affect law and order.
