4 Reasons Why Mohenjo Daro May Indeed Be A Cinematic Classic

With more than twelve thousand dislikes on its trailer, below average response to its music, constant trashing on social media, Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjo Daro is finding its fate hanging on a lose thread that’s waiting for 12th of August to either find a safe ground to fall on, or break lose and dump itself down.

While odds are favoring Akshay Kumar’s Rustom to lead the way on the much anticipated clash, things are in fact not so grim if put in perspective for the Hrithik Roshan starrer. Having been in the making for a long-long time, this much ambitious project by Gowariker has gone up to great lengths to craft something extremely magnanimous. Indian audience hasn’t really seen something of this stature on the big screen before and if executed well, this could really be one of those rare cinematic creations that do leave an impact.

As we gear up for the big day coming up on 12th, let’s analyze what could really form Mohenjo Daro into a cinematic classic that we haven’t previously seen on the big screen:

Hrithik + Ashutosh + History – Have a Good History

The last time Hrithik Roshan and Ashutosh Gowariker came together and experimented with history, it turned out quite well in the looks of Jodha-Akbar. The actor and director share a chemistry that has been tried and tested and despite this being a slightly different take on an ancient civilization, we should keep our hopes high.

Let’s Not Lose Our Hopes With Ashutosh Gowariker

4 Reasons Why Mohenjo Daro May Indeed Be A Cinematic Classic

Not everybody can be a proud creator of colossally impactful cinema like Lagaan, Swades and Jodha Akbar. Ashutosh Gowariker has been a pinnacle figure in the modern century of filmmakers and doubting his abilities would be undermining promising cinema. Yes he has seemed to have been a little out of touch lately but that’s not something that should come in the way of expecting quality cinema from him again. Despite all the odds, he still is a filmmaker we can totally depend on.

    A Valiant Attempt

4 Reasons Why Mohenjo Daro May Indeed Be A Cinematic Classic

Basing a fictional take on world’s first civilization with own cinematic sensibilities isn’t really an easy task for anybody to pull off, which is exactly what makes Mohenjo Daro a brave cinematic attempt. With a new female face and a backdrop that has had no earthly business in the film industry before, it’s a risk Gowariker has sportingly taken on. If anything we’ll get to watch through this piece of cinema is new locales, an unexplored era and a fresh story.

    Hrithik Roshan

4 Reasons Why Mohenjo Daro May Indeed Be A Cinematic Classic

Very rarely has Hrithik Roshan disappointed with his infirmity of handling a character and that restores all the faith we have in him. With Mohenjo Daro, he gets an opportunity to shed out his best again and be expressive enough to drive us through an era that we haven’t seen before. Hrithik is due for a magical performance for a long time and this big screen prospect gives him the opportunity to spread his arms again. We’ve seen the bit of it in the trailer, let’s see what we have in store for us on August 12th.
