Bollywood’s Chinese Connection: 5 Times Bollywood Collaborated With China!

Bollywood is the largest film industry in the world. India produces the highest number of movies every year and so many people from around are keen to join the industry. In fact we have seen so many foreigners show their interest in Bollywood and even dance and sing to our songs.

But one such country that is now prominently collaborating with Bollywood is China. China is one of the biggest countries in the world, much like India, and thanks to the proximity, we share a lot of common things between us. From the value system to sensibilities, we match on quite a few things. So it is not completely unexpected that the two big match on quite a few things. So it is not completely unexpected that the two big countries will cross path.

Bollywood’s Chinese connection is becoming stronger day by day. Here are a few instances of that:

    1. When Salman Khan and Kabir Khan collaborated with Chinese actress Zhu Zhu

Chinese actress Zhu Zhu will be making her debut with Tubelight this year. She is an actress who has been seen in both TV and Films. In fact she has been working in the Chinese entertainment industry since 2010 and has also recorded an album. She will be playing the mother of Martin Ray in the film and will share a close friendship with Salman Khan’s character.

    2. Aamir Khan’s movies that smash Chinese Box-Office

Aamir Khan has a crazy appeal in China. Be it 3 Idiots, PK or Dangal, his films have been able to mint huge money from China. The latest movie Dangal has collected 1.50 million USD in China. While S.S Rajamouli too released his magnum opus Baahubali in China, it failed to attract Chinese movie-goers. Looks like Aamir Khan has cast a spell in China!

    3. The three film deal

China and India had signed a pact, but this one involves the entertainment industry only! In 2015 Eros had signed a deal with Chinese Film Corp., Shanghai Film Group and Fudan University. The aim of this film was to collaborate, share intellectual properties of both countries and market the films in both the nation. In fact, Kabir Khan’s ‘Zookeeper’ and Siddharth Anand’s ‘Love In Beijing’ were made under this memorandum!

    4. Kung Fu Yoga

Kung Fu Yoga is a major Indo-Sino collaboration when it comes to entertainment. While it had the very famous Jackie Chan in the lead, it also had Indian celebs like Sonu Sood, Disha Patani and Amyra Dastur.
