7 Celebs Who Turned Down Baahubali!

Baahubali has been a phenomenal movie in the Indian film industry. The film was one of the most awaited movies of the year and it did live upto the hype that its previous installment had created. When a movie gets humungous success like that of Baahubali: The Beginning, it does become difficult to match up to the buzz that it generates. But the movie not only did maintain the tempo, it outdid the previous part! It has become the first movie in Bollywood to earn a whopping 400 crore and mint 1000 crore worldwide.

Right now, isn’t it difficult to think that celebrities could have rejected the movie? Well, it might seem impossible now, but not just Bollywood celebs but also Southern biggies had rejected the film when they were approached. Here’s a list of 7 celebs who rejected Baahubali:

1. Hrithik Roshan- Baahubali

The Greek God of Bollywood was offered the lead of Baahubali. SS Rajamouli had initially planned that Baahubali will be a Hindi Bollywood movie and had therefore approached Hrithik with the lead role. However he declined the offer and chose Mohenjo Daro instead!

2. John Abraham- Bhallaladev

The script of Baahubali was sent to the actor and John was offered the role of the negative character Bhallaladev. However, there was no response from the actor.

3. Vivek Oberoi- Bhallaladev

He was also approached for the role of Bhallaladev. However, the actor had some previous commitments and he refused the film.

4. Sridevi- Sivagami 

Sridevi was approached for the role of Rajmaata Sivagami Devi. But the film did not intrigue the actress and she chose to work on another film, Puli instead. The role was then given to Ramya Krishnan.

5. Sonam Kapoor- Avantika

Sonam had herself admitted in an interview that she was offered the role of Avanthika. In fact, she had also read the script and found it amazing. It is not clear as to why she rejected the movie.

6. Nayantara- Devasena

She was offered the role of Devasena. However, the south beauty rejected the offer!

7. Mohanlal- Katappa

The superstar was offered the role of Katappa. However he did not accept the offer and Sathyaraj was signed for the film!
