Films like Sarbjit (that comes out this week) do not really have a set audience that makes it heavily relying on the word of mouth. However, if it plays to the tradition set in the recent times, the growing interest in such films has gathered some encouragement for makers.

Aishwarya’s ‘Real’ Powerful Comeback

We’re glad Aish gave herself a second chance almost immediately after the muddle of Jazbaa she was in. Let’s face it, she was all over the place in the Sanjay Gupta directorial and the character of Dalbir Kaur in Sarbjit gives her enough depth to resurface the talent she has. From what we see in the trailer, we haven’t found Aish in an avatar like this ever before and it only elevates the anxiety we have around her performance. Mark our words, if she pulls it off well, it may just be one of the most powerful performances of the year.

Yet Another Omung Kumar Winner On The Cards?

Just a couple of years he made an impressive directorial debut through Priyanka Chopra’s Mary Kom. The very powerful film had established the fact that Omung could understand cinematic sensibilities quite well. Now that he comes back with yet another real life story, we expect him to be better than before. If he does that, Sarbjit would emerge as a clear winner!

Performance Of The Year By Randeep?

You can be a touch apprehensive with Aishwarya or to an extent with Omung, but Randeep? Boy he looks like he’s told himself to make this his best performance ever. He’s in it like his life was depending on it. Having literally lived the life of Sarabjit Singh, the rushes speak volumes of what we can look forward to while watching him. Taking Us Closer To Reality

A nationwide movement that now translates into a cinematic vision may ultimately document some facts for the audiences. For years, the story that people were only hearing through the media, will take them closer to reality (as we hope) and may eventually help us create a point of view. All we know for a fact is Sarabjit went through a struggling life and succumbed to his tragic injuries in Lahore jail. As morally shaking as it can get, Sarbjit could be the second Neerja of this year.

Emotions/Goosebumps Guaranteed

If the trailer for a moment got us moved strikingly, there’s enough chance for the film making several similar impacts during its runtime. Randeep’s performance, Aishwarya’s character, so much of whistle bajao like one liners and an emotional backdrop attached, if it doesn’t live to the hype, only the makers will have to be blamed. From what it looks, Sarbjit will serve to our emotionally moving chords quite well.

Can Anybody Forget Richa Chadda?

Make no mistake and wonder Sarbjit is predominantly a brother-sister story with a cross border conflict. The film also has Richa Chadda! Can she ever go unnoticed even if it’s a brief appearance? We suppose not. Playing a sensitive character of Sarbjit’s wife, Richa may just add the texture that Sarbjit was perhaps lacking.
