At the end of this year when Aditya Chopra’s Befikre and Aamir Khan’s Dangal hit the screens on their respective release dates, they are going to be recreating history! Did you know that? We’ll tell you how.

An Aditya Chopra release is by all means a big cinematic event and we know how picky Aamir has always been with his projects. The iconic filmmaker having made just 3 films in a career spanning over 20 years is currently busy wrapping up his fourth and quite ambitious enterprise with Ranveer Singh & Vaani Kapoor titled ‘Befikre’. Aamir on the other hand has been training hard for Dangal that also comes out near Christmas.

Here’s how the two are recreating history-

8 years ago when Aditya was bracing up for his last directorial Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, he chose December 12^th as a perfect release slot. While the film did well and went on to be a big hit, it just couldn’t translate into something magnanimous. Thanks to Aamir Khan who was ready with his action drama Ghajini on Christmas, Aditya (if not admittedly) suffered some box office dents let alone all the hype.

2016 and Aditya chooses to follow the same roads. He comes out with Befikre on December 9^th only to be challenged on Christmas by guess who? Yes Aamir Khan again. His wrestling drama ‘Dangal’ is a confirmed Christmas release and the two stalwarts are locking horns once more with a difference of two weeks.

While it happens to be a mere coincidence, what’s interesting to note here is the two cinematic geniuses who selectively pick their projects are somehow close to repeating the fate of 2008 again. Let’s see how it turns out this time around!
