    Dangal is about to be crowned the highest grossing film of 2016.

    Aamir Khan's highly-anticipated film Dangal released to critical acclaim and box office success two weekends ago. And that good fortune spilled into last week as the film continued to earn extraordinarily. And now, after well over ten days at the box office, the film is set to gross Rs 300 gross and dethrone Salman Khan's Sultan as the highest grossing film of 2016.

    Incredibly, the film continues to earn to double digit figures, even after two weekends at the box-office. And this has resulted in film's mind-boggling success. 

    According to leading trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film has grossed Rs 295.14 crore till yesterday. This pretty much means that as you read this, the film would have crossed Salman Khan's Sultan at the BO, which has a final domestic grossed of Rs 300.45 crore.

    Also, as the film crosses Rs 300 crore, it joins an ultra-exclusive category of Bollywood films. The film will be the fourth film in Rs 300 crore club.

    Going by the strong showing of the film, it will be unlikely that the film will be halting any time soon. And this leaves all kinds of records that the film can still break. Most notably, the highest grossing Bollywood film of all time, the first Bollywood film to cross Rs 350 crore at the domestic BO, and the first Bollywood film to cross Rs 400 crore at the domestic BO.
