5 Reasons Why October 28th Could Do The Unthinkable – Earn 50 Crores In A Day!

We’ve all been waiting for the day when cash registers would be set on fire and Bollywood would show us the potential of how far it can get. While all trade pundits have been predicting that a 50 crore opening day would soon see the light of the day, it unfortunately hasn’t yet been achieved. It’s not as if we don’t have the strength to cross that milestone, but things have just been shy of some or the other aspect on every occasion.

While there have been occasions when films have gone well beyond the 40 crore mark in a single day, the desirable figure of 50 has however been the story suggesting – “so near yet so far.” Bahubali in fact combined its Hindi, Tamil and Telugu figures to cumulate the figures touching 50, but the threshold is yet to be won for a Hindi movie.

5 Reasons Why October 28th Could Do The Unthinkable – Earn 50 Crores In A Day!

As we now gear up for the big Diwali clash that’s happening between Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay and Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, there’s now potentially a solid chance this milestone could finally be broken.

Here are 5 reasons why October 28th could do the unthinkable and earn 50 crores in a day!

    No. of Screens

The current hearsays within the industry reveal that both these big movies will release on a record number of screens. While Shivaay is expected to release on close to 4000 screens, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil will come out with close to 3500 prints. In this case, the chances of the first day hitting the 50 crore mark may increase manifold.

    Previous Examples

In 2014 when SRK starrer Happy New Year hit the screens on Diwali, it did a whopping business of close to 40 crores on the first day itself. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo last year made 40.23 crores on the first day too. With 2016 in outlook and not just one but two healthy prospects awaited, there’s no reason why both these films cannot combine to put a 50 crore first day.

    Different Audiences

One major setback that makers normally experience during big clashes is the splitting up of audiences. When films with the same genre or the same commercial zone come out, audiences are bound to get in two minds and pick one. However this time, both Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil are ready with their set of audience that’s not widely expected to collide. Therefore, the split is not likely to cause any major damage to both the films.

    Clash of the Titans

Diwali at most times has either been about a big colossal release or a clash that looked like having a winner from the onset. In 2016, both movies at hand are looking solid enough to consolidate positions at the box office. The music and trailers of both movies have been appreciated and with stars like Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor, the excitement is only expected to rise high. With action, stunts, cinematography are highlights of the Ajay Devgn directorial, romance, drama, human emotions and urban modern day relationships is what people are looking forward to see in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The two films in totality are indicative of a hurricane of a business.

    Because it’s Diwali

Happy New Year, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo had both come out on Diwali to thump a magnanimous tally ranging in 40’s. While the films were big enough to drive enough attention, it was the Diwali factor that played added advantage. When Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani locked horns with each other on Christmas last year, the combined total was in the range of 35 crores on first day. However, Diwali is different and you can really expect the two films to push boundaries and make 50 crores possible.

While we have our set our theories to believe 50 crores in on the cards, what do you think? Will this Diwali hit the fastest half century?
