4 Reasons Why Aishwarya Rai Appears A Total Misfit In Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

4 Reasons Why Aishwarya Rai Appears A Total Misfit In Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Before you jump the gun and start abusing me for having an opinion, read through what justifies the theory of our former miss world being a misfit in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The recent cinematic history does not put forward any substantial concept for Aishwarya leading a film on her shoulders. She spoiled the otherwise potentially good Sarbjit with her loud and if I may say dull set of expressions and visibly hampered her chances of making a strong comeback through Jazbaa, where of course she blew things off herself.

Now that we are going to see her in one of the most anticipated romantic dramas of the year, it stands to reason to examine if she indeed was the right choice. Yes, I had my reservations about it but after having watched the teaser of the film that came out in the morning, I’m sort of convinced Karan could have made a better choice.

I know the rate of abuses is getting high as you’re reading though this but here are 5 elements in the teaser that prove why Aishwarya is a misfit in an otherwise impressive teaser of Ae Dil Hai Mushkkil:

She Looks Like Coming Straight Out of an Ad Film Shoot

4 Reasons Why Aishwarya Rai Appears A Total Misfit In Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Yeah, she is the most amazing beauty who has taken India to an international podium of recognition as far as fashion and film fests are concerned. But you’d at least expect her to get in the mood of the film and the story, wouldn’t you? Want to put your moneys on the fact that she will remind you of a lot of her recent ads when you watch her in the movie?

She Makes Love Making Appear Dull

4 Reasons Why Aishwarya Rai Appears A Total Misfit In Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Having been on such a long sabbatical post Raavan, she made her comeback through Jazbaa where she didn’t have to romance anyone. A few months later, she appeared in Sarbjit where obviously you couldn’t have expected her to find a soul mate. Now that she’s back to the ground of romance, guess who she has found to make love with? Ranbir Kapoor! Without going into what may possibly sound rude, Aishwarya is making these passionate scenes look awfully dull.

    She Plays An Urdu Poet

Karan probably became a touch more ambitious and cast her in a character who’s an Urdu poet. Now here’s why this bothers me: For an actress who’s naturally uncomfortable in speaking Hindi, assigning her to recite effortless poems in a language that’s too intricate to understand and speak, this one just pushed a little too much didn’t it? I don’t intend to find a Shabana Azmi as a better replacement but reading about her character discourages me to a little extent in the prospect that I’m gonna have to sit through watching her act like a pretentious Urdu artiste!

    Misfit In The League

4 Reasons Why Aishwarya Rai Appears A Total Misfit In Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

If only beauty and glamor were enough to make up for everything else you lacked! While of course the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil narrative bounds to have a character who’s much older than rest of the lot, that didn’t have to mean you get an actress who’d appear a misfit. From Ranbir Kapoor to Anushka Sharma to Fawad Khan, these are names who’ve worked their way up through serious acting and ability to pull off any character. To picture her in the same league is a prospect that asks for too much. While actresses like Tabu and Sridevi are gifted in ways we can’t imagine, it’s kind of sad how Karan had such limited options to choose from.

As I come to conclude my set of believing around why Aishwarya isn’t really the one we deserved in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, I’ll be taken off the hook if she proves everybody wrong when the film comes out! And trust me, I’ll be jumping with joy because I want her to perform.
