It has been shown in films from time immemorial- boy loves girl, girl is not responding, boy follows the girl incessantly and finally the girl falls in love (or gives in). Well, through the years, feminists and social activists have pointed out how flawed this concept has been. Not only is it a breach in the privacy of a woman, it also gives rise to a number of cases of violence against women. Many a times when such lovers meet with a negative answer, they try to harm the girl instead. Acid attacks, abduction - name such grave crimes and in most cases you would see tgar it began with a seemingly harmless behaviour of stalking.

As dangerous as it may be, what is even more saddening us that films even now show such behaviour in a light manner. Take for example the first song from Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. The film would deal with the topic of why it is necessary for every household to have a toilet. It also showed how going out to defecate in the open also leads to crime against women. It is therefore even more disappointing to see stalking in one of the film's song.

The song, Hans Mat Pagli, is soothing. It is a typical romantic song by Sonu Nigam that feels like nectar to the ear. But at the same time, the visuals ruin everything. In the song, we see Akshay Kumar's character stalking Bhumi. He follows her wherever she goes, to college, to home or even when she is out with her friends. But the more disturbing part is yet to come. We see Keshav secretly filming her too whenever he gets a chance!

Akshay Kumar has always been associated with championing of women's causes. To see him do this is really disheartening.

We sincerely hope that it is some build-up to show how wrong such behaviour is and falls perfectly with the greater scheme of the film, which has a very positive storyline. If not, we will definitely be heartbroken to see a A-list star, who is followed by millions of people all over the world, trivialise such a grave issue!
