Here's The One Thing Amitabh Bachchan Hasn't Achieved In Over 40 Years of Acting

In case you haven't heard, Amitabh Bachchan's latest film Pink is out and getting rave reviews from the audiences and critics alike. While the film has enough great elements, none is quite as outstanding as Big B himself.

Here's The One Thing Amitabh Bachchan Hasn't Achieved In Over 40 Years of Acting

This is not happening the first time of course. The legendary actor, in his over four-decade long career has been consistently been the standout performer.  What's especially impressive about him is the fact that even though he dominated in the 1970s and the 1980s, he has somehow got better over time. In fact, we feel that his performances in this century are actually far better when he was "in his prime".

To constantly adapt to the higly dynamic entertainment industry, might take masterly of a lot of things, including commercial aspect, which are becoming ever important to the industry. And like a lot of other things, he has done exactly that.

But as great he might have done, Amitabh Bachchan hasn't entered the coveted 100 crore club.

    Wait, let that settle.

We repeat: no Amitabh Bachchan film has crossed the 100 crore mark.

Here's The One Thing Amitabh Bachchan Hasn't Achieved In Over 40 Years of Acting

In fact, his last release Piku is his biggest grosser till date by earning nearly Rs. 80 crore. Behind Piku is Satyagraha (67.85 crore), Sarkar Raj (59.45 crore), Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (47 crore), Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (45.75 crore) and this year's Wazir (42 crore).

    See? No 100 crore films.

This proves two things: First, in an industry, where 100 crore is the go-to barometer for success, Big B's survival without a single film like that shows his the size of his stardom; and second, that maybe the 100 crore figure shouldn't be the only barometer for success.

Kudos to you Big B for teaching us these two things and riveting audiences with your performances for decades and well, being awesome in general.
