3 Epic Films You Won’t Believe Amitabh Bachchan Rejected!

In a career that most likely doesn’t have any regrets comes with a baggage of a couple of bad choices. While Big B has countless blockbusters to his credit and numerous awards to brag about, not many would know how he missed being a part of two of the classics that international cinema has seen.

Yes, Amitabh Bachchan hasn’t quite made any bad choices in his career and there aren’t too many films that he has rejected to regret later. However, there are these 2 films that he may certainly have some compunction about since he passed it on to someone else and here they are:

    Mr. India

The most accomplished children’s sci-fi film that introduced us to the concept of invisibility in movies, Amitabh Bachchan didn’t show any interest in Mr. India. Directed by Shekhar Kapoor, when Mr. India was being made, he first chose to cast Mr. Bachchan in the lead role. However the legend wasn’t particularly too keen on coming onboard for the project and let it pass on. Rest as they is history and Anil Kapoor has a film to his credit that can be proud of for his lifetime.

    Slumdog Millionaire

The original host of India’s version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Big B came as an obvious choice to play the role that Anil Kapoor portrayed in Slumdog Millionaire. However, he wasn’t too convinced with this either and chose not to be a part of this international film. As it turned out, the film went on to win several academy awards that year and introduced Anil Kapoor to world cinema. Not that Big B needed that kind of exposure, but seeing him stand on that Academy stage with the honor would have been epic. Once again it was Anil Kapoor’s gain what Big B passed on.

    Aan – Men At Work

Ok, there’s nothing epic about this Madhur Bhandarkar project but it wouldn’t have been too bad seeing Big B kicking some asses as a cop. In 2004 when he was doing a spree of movies one after the other, he chose to let this one go. As far as we know, he had just come out playing a similar character in Khakee and didn’t want to repeat that in a short span of time. The role was later carried out by Shatrughn Sinha.

So here we are! It’s not as if actors don’t make poor choices, but the two very projects that Amitabh Bachchan could have been a part of weren’t really in the destiny for him. Even superheroes make mistakes!
