Audience Movie Review: Sweetiee Weds NRI

Audience Movie Review: Sweetiee Weds NRI

“Old is Gold” –  We all heard this old slogan many times. Hasnain Hyderabadwala tried to make us remember this slogan once again, and passed with distinction. There is nothing new in this movie.

The movie revolves around Sweetiee and her marriage only. Sweetiee Desai (Zoya Afroz) is a cool and happy girl. Her only wish is to marry her boyfriend Aakash Patel (Himansh Kohli). As we know, every love story is incomplete without problems. And so, here it is. In this love story, a big problem is her father.

Although, her father is a carefree and very entertaining personality. But he has an ambition of marrying his daughter to an NRI and it doesn’t matter to him what he works and how he looks. So, they have to convince her father anyhow and it’s not an easy task.

Himansh Kohli character is so dumb that you should not expect any good dialogues or any activity from him. It feels like the director has just put him into the role and didn’t write any specific activity for him. He has just one dialogue which is repeated again and again – “Toh main kya karu.’

Zoya Afroz is good. Her acting is impressive. Director was very honest about the title of the movie and totally concentrated on Sweetiee only. He made her do both the jobs of actor and actress and she also did both the jobs perfectly.

Darshan Jariwala doesn’t need any explanation. He is a combo pack of a perfect father and superb entertainer. Turning from a jolly father to a serious father is excellent.

Director could show Himansh in a better way. Lots of scenes were seemed very silly like running from the wedding place without no reason and not a single effort to convince her father.

It is a one-time movie. Don’t expect too much. If you want to watch it to get relaxed, just search for another possibility.
