Box Office: Bad Signs For Both Baar Baar Dekho & Freaky Ali, Check Out The Collections!

While the Filmy Friday was expected to ignite some light at the box office with two promising movies, the results surprised a lot with an underwhelming feedback in return. While the bigger of the lot Baar Baar Dekho was at least expected to post a 30 crore opening weekend, the first two days have proved there is much less to look forward to in those prospects.

The Sidharth-Katrina starrer after having opened to a modest 6.81 crores on Friday just slightly accelerated and earned 7.65 crores on Saturday. Given the hype, promotions and brand value, the film should have at least garnered 20 crores in the first two days. However, it is now placed with total figures of less than 15 crores which should certainly concern its producers. The bad to mixed word of mouth that came its way became the biggest reason why Baar Baar Dekho couldn’t convert its pre-release buzz into solid numbers. While Sunday is expected to show some growth, the film will most likely start sinking by Monday.

Sohail Khan’s Freaky Ali on the other hand couldn’t show any signs of strength either. The film opened to 2.55 crores which look fine given its cost but was welcomed mostly with average feedback. The not so encouraging word of mouth may become a reason for its underperformance at the box office eventually. However its low cost is a backing, Freaky Ali should still be able to post at least 10 crores in its opening weekend to stay in contention.

With two more films coming out to play the box office game this week, there’s less time for both these films to come out and perform!
