Begum Jaan Trailer: Vidya Balan Steals The Show As The Fierce Brothel Boss Who Refuses To Give Up!

In 1947, the British partitioned India and despite all the protests, people were divided. The wounds of partition are still fresh on them who had to bear the brunt. And this has become the background for the new Vidya Balan movie- Begum Jaan!

The film is the remake of the 2015 Bengali movie Rajkahini, that had actress Rituparna Sengupta in the role of Begum Jaan. The Bollywood remake is on the titular character, which is played by Vidya Balan.

Vidya looks fierce as the boss of the brothel that happens to fall on the Radcliff line, the line that will create two nations- India and Pakistan. Begum Jaan refuses to nudge, threatens, fights, shows fear too, but has the heart to not give up the brothel that happens to be her 'mahal'.

The trailer has the most focus on Vidya, who shines in each frame that she appears in. 

The other character who has taken us by surprise here is Chunky Pandey, who will be playing the villain in the movie.
