But since the gorgeous lady was having an affair with Mithun Chakroborty, Boney opted for an arranged marriage with Mona. But his liking for the actress had never actually vanished. 

Once, in fact, Sridevi tied a Rakhi too on Boney's wrists since Mithun was not really secure. But as soon as Mithun opten to go back to his wife Yogita Bali, Boney was there to support the actress.

There was an invitable split between Mona and Boney. Boney married Sridevi after divorcing his ex wife Mona. There were also rumours that the actress was pregnant before marriage and that is why married very quickly in a haste.
