There’s something about Hollywood these days that’s finding a supreme connect at Indian box office. After The Jungle Book pushed box office boundaries to a severe extreme, the latest superhero expedition Captain America: Civil War is working wonders at the ticket counters. After having opened to a thunderous 27 crore weekend, the film held itself strong on weekdays as well. The film collected 4.59 crores on Monday followed by 4.05 crores on Tuesday to take its tally up at 35.77 crores.
#CaptainAmericaCivilWar Fri 8.53 cr, Sat 8.79 cr, Sun 9.81 cr, Mon 4.59 cr, Tue 4.05 cr. Total: ₹ 35.77 cr nett. Gross: ₹ 49.76 cr. STEADY!

Given the kind of extravagant buzz it had to its credit, while this figure doesn’t really come as a shocker, it still speaks how Hollywood viewers are proportionately growing in the country. The 5 day cumulative figure is above par with all Bollywood releases currently. While Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi has collected somewhere around 11 crores in its second week so far, this week’s horror release 1920 London fared almost the same. Other two releases of the week One Night Stand and Traffic were dismal to say the least.

Meanwhile, carrying over with its dream box office run at the moment, The Jungle Book touched the 175 crore mark and is looking at a lifetime business of close to 180 crores. With the likes of Azhar and Sarbjit slated to arrive in weeks to come, there’s something to look forward to. Although, having collected a total of 70 crores, Baaghi is the latest addition to the hits of 2016.
