Box Office: Fan Loses Grip, Sunday Lower Than Friday!

A 50 crore opening weekend at any given day is a figure to be proud of, not unless it’s a Shah Rukh Khan release made under the biggest production house of the country. After having opened to a promising 19.20 crores on Friday, while Fan was expected to cash in on its positive feedback and make huge jumps, the ground reality turned out more shocking than expected.

Film’s first Sunday suffered heavy dents and couldn’t manage to match its opening day figure either. The Maneesh Sharma directorial collected 17.75 crores on Sunday. Having gone through a slide dip on Saturday with 15 odd crores its kitty, trade analysts were hoping for a bountiful Sunday without a doubt. It is not just appalling but displeasing to a greater degree that a well thought of experiment like Fan hasn’t got the kind of support from audiences as it deserved. While it’s still early days to seal the fate of the film, it is more than clear that Fan isn’t going to make any sizable changes in the record books.

After 19.20 crores on Friday, 15.40 crores on Saturday, the SRK starrer has only been able to garner 17.75 crores on Sunday. Taking Shah Rukh’s last 4 releases into account, Fan makes it first to have not reached the figure of 20 crores on any day.
