Box Office: Pink Shows Solid Jump, Raaz Reboot Drops Down

While most of us were taken for surprise after Emraan Hashmi’s horror flick Raaz Reboot opened better than Amitabh Bachchan’s Pink on the opening day, the word of mouth came into play and tables turned the following day. While Big B’s Pink has taken the lead, the Vikram Bhatt directorial will find it hard to show further growth.

Box Office: Pink Shows Solid Jump, Raaz Reboot Drops Down

After having opened to 4.32 crores on Friday, the film showed solid jump on Saturday and raked in 7.65 crores. The film has garnered almost 12 crores and is looking all set to thump a 20 crore plus opening weekend. On the other hand, Raaz after scoring 6.30 crores on Friday dropped down to 5.49 crores on Saturday. Given the average/poor word of mouth it is getting, the film doesn’t look to make any further acceleration in business.

The uphill for trend for Pink’s box office is clearly an indicator that content is what that drives the business. With an excellent word of mouth that it has earned for itself, the film all set to yield heavy profits for its producers despite having been made on low costs. While Raaz will not be much of a competition at the ticket counters, the film has enough time until the release of M.S. Dhoni. Let’s see what the trends suggest further.
