Box-Office Report: Conjuring 2 Dominates Bollywood Releases
Not for the first time this year, Hollywood beats Bollywood at the box-office.
The Conjuring 2, which released along with Te3n and Do Lafzon Ki Kahani, handsomely beat its competition this weekend by grossing ₹11.75 crore in its first two days.
The Hollywood horror movie, which is a sequel to the 2010 super-hit The Conjuring, made a strong start by minting ₹ 5.25 crore on Friday. On Saturday, the collections of the movie grew to ₹6.50 crore.

In comparison, Bollywood had a pretty weak weekend. In fact, Te3n and Do Lafzon Ki Kahani couldn’t even surpass The Conjuring 2 together!
On Friday, the Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan starrer Te3n made just ₹2.61 crore, while Randeep Hooda’s Do Lafzon Ki Kahani grossed a measly ₹1.03 crore. This was way less than the ₹5.25 crore The Conjuring 2 made.

On Saturday, the trend continued as Te3n and Do Lafzon Ki Kahani made ₹3.90 crore and ₹2.13 crore*. Their combined ₹6.03 crore couldn’t match The Conjuring 2 numbers.

Notably, The Conjuring 2’s success was also down to its release in different languages. The horror flick was released in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions.
This is the latest trick Hollywood has played on Bollywood and it’s clearly paying dividends. As of late, movies like , Batman v Superman, Captain America: Civil War, X-Men Apocalypse, The Jungle Book and Kung Fu Panda 3 have all emerged as the clear winners at the box-office.
