    With as many as three Bollywood and two mainstream Hollywood movies putting up a fight this weekend on box office, while the figures should have reflected a bountiful story, the results were surprisingly opposite. Last week’s release Dishoom had to be the first choice of the viewers, who perhaps didn’t have an option in their hands.

    With extremely low key affairs like Budhia Singh: Born To Run, The Legend of Michael Mishra and Fever at the counters, the box office only showcased a downhill story. All films opened to an extremely poor note registering less than 20 percent occupancies across the country. With Sultan having almost completely drained its energy out, it was John and Varun’s Dishoom that remained most preferred choice for the viewers. After having made close to 54 crores in its first week, the film added another 5 crores to its kitty on Friday and Saturday. Looking at the kind of slow box office week, the film should reach close to 70 crores.

With biggies like Jason Bourne and Suicide Squad in the fray, it was yet another week of Hollywood minting more money than any Hindi release. Both Suicide Squad and Jason Bourne opened well to a slightly underwhelming response, but stayed afloat nevertheless.
