The Akshay Kumar starrer that locked horns with Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro on the Independence Day weekend, turned out to be quite a winner at the box office. After having performed well in its opening weekend, the film sustained well throughout its theatrical run and ended up as a super hit. The film has so far earned 127 crores.

    Happy Bhag Jayegi

The Diana Penty-Abhay Deol starrer that was mostly received with a positive word of mouth couldn’t quite convert its hype into numbers, but it still ended up as a survivor at the box office. The film has earned 28 crores so far which is potentially good given its cost.

    A Flying Jatt

The superhero comedy that Remo D’Souza came up with in the last week of August though disappointed with its content, the film however managed to score in the 40 crore range and making sure some returns for its distributors.

    Akira

Last week’s female centric action drama Akira was largely received with an average word of mouth but a lot of factors added to its overall appeal and made sure it ended its first week on a high. However with tough competition this week, the box office run for the movie looks almost over. The film has earned 26 crores so far.

    Don’t Breathe

The prominent Hollywood horror release that came out last week has surprisingly also done well. The film looked solid in its opening weekend and has earned more than 5 crores so far.

With the last quarter having started on a high with a clash like Baar Baar Dekho and Freaky Ali, there’s a lot of stuff to look forward to in the coming weeks and months. The game is just getting more interesting! At the moment, all is not lost for the Box Office!
