Chetan Bhagat Receives the Indian of the Year Award in the Entertainment Category from IBN

Chetan Bhagat who is known for authoring novels that go on to becoming bestsellers, has received the award for the Indian of the Year in the Entertainment Catefory from IBN. The author who is an IIT-IIM pass out has been the source of entertainment in the past by providing material to base kick-ass movie scripts on. 

Be it 2 states or 3 idiots (a re-make of the five point someone), the movies based on Chetan Bhagat's scripts have been block blusters! Even though there have been controversies around his work, for eg. the one with people debating whether his script has been the basis of the 3 Idiots film, the fact that Chetan Bhagat has made the headlines for his work can not be refuted. 

Bhagat recently wrote a novel called the half girlfriend.The buzz on the internet was that, the novel would be the basis for another Bollywood movie. While nothing official has been confirmed, what we know for sure is that half girlfriend will turn out to be as (if not more) entertaining than 2 States! 

In the ceremony that was held for this award, Bhagat was against big Bollywood celebs such as Aamir Khan and Kangana Ranaut. The author cum script writer who has delivered 6 best-sellers and has also featured under the Time's list of most influential people won. Here's a snippet from the award ceremony! 

Chetan Bhagat who had also provided the script for Salman Khan's Kick, was humbled to recieve this award. The man who has been the reason for many crore club Bollywood movies, had this to say: 

Chetan Bhagat's close friends congratulated him on his achievement. The New York Times mentioned Bhagat to be the biggest selling English language novelist in India’s history! Bhagat has been nothing short of revolutionary in bringing about a change in the literary scene of the society!
