When Chetan Bhagat's 'Half Girlfriend' Got Into Trouble!

Chetan Bhagat will start the shoot of his film 'Half Girlfriend' and the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar has promised full and unconditional support to the writer for the shoot of the film in Bihar this year. The film has been in controversy after the royal family of Durmaon in the state had sent a legal notice to the novelist for using 'derogatory language and referring to the family without their permission'.

The issue was resolved after the name of the princely state was changed from 'Durmaon' to 'Simraon' and the royal family demanded an 'unconditional apology from the novelist and the publishers' for using the name without seeking prior permission.

However, the Deputy CM, Tejaswi Yadav, took to Twitter to assure state co-operation and safety during the shoot. He tweeted:

It is a love story which will star Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles and the drama will be directed by Mohit Suri. The protagonist of the novel belongs to a backward region in Bihar but wants a modern girlfriend and that's what got the writer in trouble. Ekta Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor will produce the film.
