WATCH: Christopher Nolan's Tension-Filled First Trailer of Dunkirk

The first official trailer for Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk is tense and cryptic.

Christopher Nolan, who is widely regarded as one of the finest directors working today, has made his first ever war movie.

With World War 2 in the backdrop, the film particularly focuses on a particular event in  1940, when Allied soldiers were resued by the British Army from the French city of Dunkirk. 

This famed director, who has been directing sci-fi and fantasy movies since the past decade, has created a more realistic people. Also, the film will have a multi-star cast, instead of a straight-forward lea. The film will star Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh and Mark Rylance and singer Harry Styles.

Dunkirk will debut in theaters on July 21st, 2017.
